The Android 4.4 KitKat version has been recently launched and is soon to become official. Google plans on launching it with the next version of Nexus, the Nexus 5 device. But users are enthusiast to know whether the 4.4 update would be coming to their device or not. If you own a recently launched high-end device, you may easily expect about receiving the KitKat update. But for the earlier devices, you will have to wait to see whether the manufacturer is deciding to send the update and whether the device hardware you own will support it or not.

Samsung Phones will get Android 4.4 Update

The leaked internal Samsung Knox document showed the few devices which are going to get the Android 4.4 update along with the devices which would get the Samsung Knox in the coming update. Following is the list:

• Samsung Galaxy S4
• Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom
• Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
• Samsung Galaxy Note 3
• Samsung Galaxy Mega (no confirmation whether the 5.8, 6.3 or both)
• Samsung Galaxy S3
• Samsung Galaxy Note II
• Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
• Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 & Tab 2

Though the Galaxy S3 and Note II are seen facing a few regional lock issues, it could not affect its major update. According to documentation, “It is the S3 which has 2GB of RAM, and that is the U.S. version which might be getting the update, and the International users might have to wait and watch if Samsung has made it ready for their devices too or not.”

Sony Phones will get Android 4.4 Update

According to another recent leak, Sony Xperia Z1, the latest flagship device from the company, might be getting the Android 4.4 update. This is quite obvious as Sony will never ignore this year’s flagship models while preparing the updates. Following are the list of devices:

• Sony Xperia Z1
• Sony Xperia Z
• Sony Xperia Z Ultra
• Sony Xperia Tablet Z
• Sony Xperia Tablet S

But Sony Xperia Z1 is still stuck with the Android 4.2 version and hasn’t got the 4.3 update yet. But if Sony plans to skip that and directly adopt 4.4 KitKat versions, it will be a relief for the users waiting for the update.

HTC Phones will get Android 4.4 Update

The HTC One Max is rumored to be announced soon. Therefore the device is expected to get the Android 4.4 KitKat update soon after its launch. Also, HTC One is expected to get the update. Here is the list:

• HTC One X
• New Desire series phones launched in 2013
• HTC Droid DNA
• HTC J
• HTC Butterfly

LG Phones will get Android 4.4 Update

We are not sure if LG Optimus G Pro will receive the update, but the latest flagship smartphone from the company, LG G2 is sure to get the KitKat version of Android very much after its launch. Here is the list of the other devices:

• LG Optimus G
