Is it a Pre-Halloween treat from Google?
Kit Kat bars are sure to fill your mind all October long as Android 4.4 KitKat along with the Nexus 5 phone are rumored to be announced on Oct. 14, just two weeks ahead of Halloween.
Goggle has not yet confirmed the Android 4.4 features list or the release date anywhere outside of October.
However, according to Ausdroid, anonymous tipsters are trying to fill in the blanks, indicating that the firmware update is destined for both newer and older phones.
The site’s sources also opine that there is a new notifications widget on the way along with fresh animations, APIs and gallery visualization tweaks.
If this rumor turns true, Halloween will prove to be a great time and advantage for Kit Kat-maker and new Google promotional partner Nestle.
Will Nexus 5 be launched on Oct. 14, too?
October 14th is expected to bring good news owners of the last phone that Google designed, the LTE-less Nexus 4.
It is rumored that LG Nexus 5 is supposed to be a 7-band LTE device that will support the higher data speeds its otherwise stellar predecessor lacked.
This information came from a recent FCC filing for a phone with the codename D820. The in the documents was seen to be matching the leaked Nexus phone seen during the unveiling of the Android KitKat statue on Google’s lawn.
The filing also points to a smartphone with a roughly 5-inch display (measured to be 4.96 inches in the FCC report) and a Qualcomm Snapdragon System-on-a-Chip.
Thus we may conclude that FCC document’s indication about the look of the Nexus 5, the KitKat and phone’s release date to still remain a mystery. The KitKat as sweet as it sounds may have to be taken with a pinch of salt though.
