Well, India’s largest mobile operator company Bharati Airtel could successfully bring down 4G to India as the pioneer. Following its footsteps, however, Airtel has announced that 4G will be available in other major cities soon. Initially you will only get 4G data service with no SMS facility. The 4G USB modem can be plugged into your laptop or pc to avail to high speed internet at the blink of an eye. In case of Airtel, its 4G plans start from Rs.999 with 6GB usage on Airtel’s 4G LTE modem. And the 4G multi mode dongle/USB stick will cost around Rs.4999.
With Airtel into the picture, it has extended its 4G Coverage to more cities across India: Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune and Chandigarh.
The mobile operator company has also promised to widen its 4G coverage to more cities soon. On the other hand, Aircel another fast growing GSM mobile service providers in India says that it will launch its 4G services by December 2013. As of now, Aircel owns 3G licenses/spectrum in 13 states across India, viz. Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Kerala, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (East), West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Orissa, Assam and North East. The officials when asked about the delay for 4G launch says that “Majority of smart phones (excluding the latest ones) in India do not support 4G.
