Are all your friends committed and you are still single? When you look around you, you find couples, loving, fighting and caring for each other. Are you the one who is always spotted single and never seen with girls/guys? I mean, not at least girlfriend/boyfriend types.
When the world celebrates love days like Valentine’s Day and other anniversaries with their loved ones, you may feel out of place. Have you ever wanted to know why? Well, there might many reasons for this. To help you figure it out, we have come up with a list of the top 10 to indicate why you are still single. Read along:
10. Money
Money remains the driving factor for many people. This is probably one of the reasons why they prefer to remain single. They feel that with commitment come huge expenses. They have to buy gifts for birthdays and anniversary and the bolt comes when they have to plan a date for their partner. It seems to be a pretty costly affair. ‘So single it is’ is what they feel. No partner, no cost. Well, I find it logical too. Don’t you?
9. Too shy
If you are too shy to talk to your opposite sex, no wonder you are single. Because, if you are too shy to introduce yourself to a guy/girl how on earth will you take the next step? Communication is very important in commitment. It is the major factor that can make or break a relationship. May be because you are shy, you are still single.
8. Still in love with your ex
Most people are not able to get over their past relationship. They are still in love with their ex and cannot think of being with someone else. Thus cannot mentally prepare themselves to seek for love again. It is okay from a perspective because if you still love your ex, it will be injustice to your new partner. But also you need a new person to forget your past.
7. Your Personality
This is harsh but is true. ‘May be you are single because nobody wants to be with you’. Your personality is the driving factor in this. Let me get it straight! If you are a flirt, this is the reason why you are single. No one likes to get involved in a committed relationship with flirts.
Another reason may be you are not attractive enough. Note that I meant attractive and not good looking. How you carry yourself has a lot to do with your personality. If you do not remain tidy it will be troublesome to get you a partner.
6. Afraid of commitments
Another dreading reason is that some people are simply afraid of commitment. They are paranoid of the thought that their relationship won’t work and they may end up getting separated. They are afraid of heart break. So, to avoid that they simply distance from relationship as a whole. They are not sure enough that they will be able to carry a relationship well won’t be able to do justice to the partner.
5. Enjoying their freedom
Most people are happily single. They enjoy their freedom like nothing else and it therefore, stops themselves from being committed. They love the late night parties and remain happy with the fact that they do not have to report back to someone at the end of the day.
4. Do not believe in love
There are some who do not believe in love. There can be many reasons attached to this thought. Some lose their faith in love because of their failed relationships and some because of their parent’s failed relationships. They choose to remain single only to stay away from the fear that comes along with relationships. May be some fine day, they will find their true love, but till then they wish to live up to the current thought.
3. No time for love
There are many who are die hard professional and tend to choose career over relationships. They feel that relationships distract work they won’t be able to focus. They do not get enough time to give to their partners as they are busily involved in the race. Again, thinking it the other way round, no one would like to have a partner who is always engrossed in work.
2. Over Confidence
Over confidence is destructive as it is a major turn off for the opposite sex. No one would like to approach you. Do not think that you are the only best person around and you can get everyone. This thought will otherwise get you into trouble. And you will remain single for long.

Some wait for the perfect right person to drop by. This is definitely the most popular reason for people being single. Most awaits their dream partner, someone with whom they can be for the rest of their lives. Someone who will stand up to their checklist and meet the perfect person they always wanted. They may come across many people in their daily lives but that special one has still not reached them. So, till then, they don’t mind waiting.
