His earnest acting skills and successful career inspired him to become a director as well. Aamir Khan is also seen displaying his newfound desire to dabble Bollywood with meaningful cinema.
Below are the top best movies of Aamir Khan till date:
1. 3 Idiots
Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ brought forward many golden rules like ‘Chase Excellence and success will follow’ ‘Life is not about getting marks, grades but chasing your dreams’. It became the biggest grosser of Bollywood. The movie makes you laugh and in the process you learn many lessons of life that can change you for good.
2. Ghajini
With Ghajini, Aamir Khan waltzes back to the no-holds-barred formula. He gives a similar awesome performance like he gave in Ghulam and Sarfarosh. Sanjay Singhania of Ghajini is a wounded, battered, bicep-laden, revenge-thirsty character and a masterly rendition of the familiar action hero of mainstream masala.
3. Lagaan
Lagaan was a treat to the cricket loving Bollywood fans. The film was scripted in a small village of Victorian India. The people stake their future on a game of cricket against their ruthless British rulers. This Aamir Khan-starrer was nominated for the Oscars.
4. Taare Zameen Par
Aamir Khan made his debut as a director with Taare Zameen Par. This is a beautiful movie sensibly made to appeal to all sorts of audience across all strata of the society. Aamir is complimented for choosing commercial format in depicting such an inhibited and unexplored concept rather than going through docu-drama format. He is plain awesome in the film along with child artist Darsheel Safary.
5. Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar features Aamir Khan as a Mumbai tapori and a boxing champion. His brother, Jai, makes money through a former boxing champion who now rules the community through terrorizing people. Aamir is terrific in the film with the right amount of emotion that will automatically make you his fan.
6. Rang De Basanti
Rang De Basanti produces Aamir as a cheerful extrovert. The film worked big time as young Indians came together for candle light marches and protests against terrorist attacks, corruption, gang-rape and any kind of injustice. Aamir and his co-actors were equally impressive.
7. Sarfarosh
Sarfarosh came with the tagline,’ The enemy within’. The movie is about the proxy war being conducted by the ISI in India. Aamir Khan, a young med student quits his studies to join the Indian Police Service to wipe out terrorists. The actor gives awesome delivery of dialogues in the film. Undoubtedly, one of his best movies ever.
8. Fanna
When Aamir Khan recites, “Tere Dil Mein Meri Saanson Ko Panaah Mil Jaaye, Tere Ishq Mein Meri Jaan Fanaa Ho Jaaye” in Fanna, you get goose bumps. Fanaa is a story of a beautiful Kashmiri girl, Zooni (Kajol Devgan), who is blind and her love, Rehan (Aamir Khan), who plays a tour guide. Both the actors are terrific in the film.
9. Peepli Live
Peepli Live makes a scathing attack on the functioning of media in India. It shows how media persons do not mind even stooping to the lowest levels to increase the ratings of their television channel/show. It is a satire on a farmer’s suicide and the role of vote-hungry politicians and the over-enthusiastic electronic media jostling for eyeballs.
10. Raja Hindustani
With Raja Hindustani, Aamir Khan became the heart throb of the nation. His cute smile, angry young man look and down-to-earth attitude in the film made girls fall for him. The story was about a cab driver from a small town who falls in love with a rich girl. Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor became an instant hit couple.
