iOS 7 has reached the market and if you are a pro gadget enthusiast, you must have already downloaded it. You must have seen how much it transforms your Apple devices this time.
I have compiled some of the most important new aspects of iOS 7 for you. Have a look.
1. Block Unwanted Calls and Texts
iphone too, has finally come up with the feature where you can easily block someone from contacting you. All you will need to do is to go to Settings, then hit Phone and then Blocked. Choose the person from the contacts you wish to block. And if you want to stop someone from texting you, simply go to Settings, Messages and hit Blocked. To block a person all together, just find that someone in your Contacts, scroll down and hit Block this Caller.
Warning! The person you’ve blocked can tell that they’ve been blocked. Their phone will ring a few times and then play a busy signal. However, you will be able to contact back the person you have blocked.
2. See When Texts Were Sent and Received
Still wondering why has the person not responded to your text yet? Or if your friend texted you about a meeting a few hours ago? The new iOS 7 makes it easier for you to keep track on your messages. If you want to see when your iMessages and texts were sent and received, just go into an iMessage conversation and swipe the text bubble to the left. Timestamps will be displayed on the right side of the screen.
3. Control Center to Simplify Everything
Swiping the bottom of any screen including the lock screen will take you to the Control Center. Control Center is a place where you are able to quickly access the flashlight, alarms, calculator and camera. You can also adjust your device’s brightness to save battery life; pause, play, or skip a song you’re listening to; adjust your WiFi; and a lot more.
4. Use Your Phone as a Level
You device will also work in level with iOS 7. Go to your Compass and Swipe to the Left. You will be offered a functional level that will help you with everything from hanging a picture to building a chair.
5. Get New Ringtones
Are you tired of hearing the same ringtone again and again? Or does hearing the first note of your longtime alarm sound make you panic? Apple has launched some new sounds. Decide your favorite song and then go to Settings > Sounds. Choose the sound you’d like to change. To peruse call ringtones, click Ringtone. If you don’t find anything you like, you can get the old ringtones by scrolling down and hitting Classic. To look for new text tones, just hit Text Tone instead of Ringtone.
6. Listen to iTunes Radio
iTunes Radio is made available with iOS 7. It is almost similar to Pandora or Spotify but is built-in with all of your other music on your phone. Like other Internet radios, iTunes Radio is free to listen to with ads, and there is a limit to how many songs you can skip. Upon subscribing to iTunes Match for $24.99 a year, you’ll be able to keep your music in iCloud and listen to it from anywhere and also listen to iTunes Radio without ads.
For accessing iTunes Radio, simply go to Music. You will find the Radio in the bottom left corner. Pick up from one of the many radio stations Apple has created, including some created by artists like Katy Perry and Drake. You may also create your own based on an artist or genre of music.
7. Update Apps in the Background
With the new inclusion, your apps will be automatically updated when your phone accesses to WiFi and keep you up-to-dated at all times. Though it is very convenient, but you might find it sucks on your battery life. But you can always turn it off.
