Are you the kind of person who keeps the Android phone setups to minimal? Is your home screen a set of apps with custom icons placed below a constantly changing minimal clock widget? Do you keep the screen to the left and right of your default for a couple of out-of-sight widgets that you need to check quite often? Most importantly are you a calendar addict i.e. the kind of person who can’t remember a thing if it is not on your calendar?
If your answer to all these is ‘yes’, I am sure you would love to read this post. I have come with a permanent replacement for that stock Google Calendar widget of yours. The replacement is named Today and is about to release today.
Today has been created by Jack Underwood (known for Now Playing). It is expected to be a simple widget inspired by a calendar widget idea that the Android team’s Roman Nurik released a couple of weeks ago to G+.
The images below say that it is a semi-transparent widget that pulls from user-selected Google calendars. You will be able to take a note of the events happening today with mostly-transparent items that are on the horizon. You may also set the date range for items you’d like displayed, tweak some appearance settings, have it show location info, and even use it with DashClock. Yes it’s simple yet amazing and incredible!
